Rheinmetall Technical Publications (RTP) performs logistic support services for the BOXER 8x8-wheel armoured vehicle – the world’s most modern and best-armoured vehicle of its class. These services range from logistic support analysis in logistics engineering to preparation of technical documentation and even assumption of ILS management responsibility.
This ultramodern wheeled vehicle of the German and Dutch armed forces is delivered in a wide range of modularly interchangeable configurations. With respect to all-terrain capability and protection, it is one of the most modern military vehicles there is. All logistic requirements for the entire life cycle were considered during vehicle development. This is reflected in the technical documentation, which was created in the form of an interactive electronic technical documentation. Thus, all logistically relevant data for the BOXER system are stored in a common source database (CSDB) in the form of data modules, and made available wherever they are required. These are used for operating and maintenance manuals as well as for illustrated spare parts catalogues according to the international standards ASD S1000D and S2000M. This ensures the data remain consistent on a single platform, available for output in the desired form. In addition to these services, RTP assumes the coordination and control function of an ILS manager for one of the consortium partners: a mark of trust in the capabilities of our company.
Our customer benefits from:
- Cost advantages thanks to one-time data maintenance and multiple use of modularly structured data
- Implementation of offset and co-production obligations through use of RTP's logistics network
- Enhanced system availability and reliability through consideration of logistic analysis results in system design
